Trying to set up my old family cabin in the Black Hills to run off solar, and I’m way out of my depth here. The cabin’s off-grid and gets a decent amount of sun, but the winters hit hard and shade from the pines is no joke. Anyone know what panels and batteries actually hold up out there? I’d rather not burn through a generator all winter. Would love to hear any tips or setups from folks who already tackled this, especially what to look out for with snow, battery freeze, and squirrels chewing wires (yeah, that happened). Every bit helps.
