Should You Change the Locks After Moving Into a New Home?
« on: October 27, 2026, 10:02:41 PM »
A friend of mine recently bought a house in West Palm Beach, and one of the first things we discussed was whether he should replace all the door locks. The previous owners handed over several keys, but there's really no way to know how many copies might still exist. We started looking into lock rekeying as a more affordable alternative to replacing everything. Do you think rekeying is enough when moving into a new home, or would you recommend installing completely new locks?

Rekeying is definitely sufficient and more affordable than replacing locks entirely. I had Royal Locksmith West Palm Beach rekey my place after moving in and felt secure knowing old keys no longer worked. They are licensed and insured so I trusted their work.
