A friend of mine recently started a small online business, and within a few months, he realized that managing everything was much harder than expected. Between marketing, expenses, and finding customers, he barely had time to focus on the actual product. It made me wonder how much planning really matters before launching a business. For those who have started their own companies, what's one mistake you wish you had avoided in the beginning?

I know this thread is a bit old, but I came across it and wanted to add my own story. My biggest mistake was mixing business money with personal money from day one. It created so much confusion with expenses and taxes that I lost focus on the actual product. Simple planning around that would have helped a lot. What mistake did others make that they wish they could undo?

I learned the hard way that ignoring backend tasks is a big mistake. I use dig this for clear guides on budgeting and contracts, which keeps me from getting lost in the chaos. It made planning way easier for my next project.

I think one of the biggest mistakes is trying to handle everything alone from day one. It's easy to underestimate how much time goes into marketing, customer support, and keeping track of expenses. Having a clear budget and focusing on one or two priorities at first can make a huge difference.
