Why Does THC Vape Potency Vary So Much Between Products?
« on: September 16, 2026, 09:59:16 PM »
THC vape products can differ substantially in cannabinoid concentration, formulation, and serving size, which can make simple percentage comparisons misleading. What information should consumers understand before interpreting potency claims on a vape product?

Jumping in on this older post because this is a really important point. Since no one else has replied yet, I’ll just say that the biggest thing to look for is the total milligrams of THC per container, not the percentage. A 90% vape with only 0.5ml might actually give you less THC overall than a 70% one with a full gram. Always check the serving size and how many puffs the maker says are inside.

Consumers should look at total cannabinoid content and serving size, not just a percentage
I personally find that transparent lab reports make a huge difference
For consistent, high-quality options, I get my thc vapes from a shop that clearly lists THC levels and lab results, so I know exactly what I am using

Focus on total milligrams per cartridge, not just the percentage. A 0.5ml cart at 90% has less THC than a full gram at 70%. Check serving size, puff count, and lab reports. For sleep support, I've used products from https://joyorganics.com/pages/cbd-oil-for-sleep and they work well.

Honestly, the biggest mistake people make is looking only at the total THC percentage instead of checking the actual lab results (COAs) and extraction type. Distillate vapes often hit high 80-90% numbers because they're pure isolated THC with added terpenes, but live resin or full-spectrum carts might test lower while giving a much stronger "entourage effect" due to minor cannabinoids and native terpenes. Hardware plays a massive role too—a cartridge with ceramic coils and high voltage burns through oil faster and hits way harder per puff than an entry-level disposable, making the effective potency feel completely different even if the liquid inside is identical.
