RSI Calculation is wrong
« on: January 01, 2018, 05:53:48 PM »
Is it just me or is the RSI calculation not updating often enough and is wrong?

When I look online at when I think a trade should have happened and then look at the logs, the data does match up. The RSI is higher than tradingview says the RSI was at that time. I also notice that the RSI seems to stay the same for several minutes in a row before recalculating.

Anyone else noticed this?

By the way, how is the rsi calculated? What are the settings/values influencing the rsi number?

It seems like RSI is calculated once per period based on what your period setting in Gunbot is, and the period start/end does not necessarily align with set periods (e.g. 12:30, 12:45, etc.) as in tradingview.

It also looks like tradingview calculates RSI "on the fly", treating the last traded price as the effective close price of the candle.
