How often does Gunbot sell and buy

Hi, I'm pretty new to Gunbot and are experimenting with it. I realy like to understand things before I am making big trades to optimise the profit.

My question is: how many times does Gunbot sell and buy?

I thought the Gunbot buys and sells and then buys and sells and.... So in my calculation I could only have a maximum of one buy if the altcoin would fall and it never sells again.
BUT! On youtube I saw some video's where people showed there orderbook. In that orderbook they showed that the Gunbot also bought two times after eachother before selling. Or sold two times before buying. If this is so, the bot could buy twice or more when a coin is falling and never sell again.

Now I'm a bit confused and I really like to know.

Can someone explain this to me?

generally:
the bot buys once then sells the same amount.
the instances when you saw two buys is, when the bot is averaging in a case of downtrend. this is triggered with "double up", a switchable function not available in all versions.
when you saw two sales right one after the other, it's most likely a case of partial order fulfillment. so the bot still sold once, but the order book was short on orders, and the coin had to be sold in two parts. happens often.

In addition to my previous post, I now saw my own bot buying the maximum amount twice. So there was no sell in between.

If someone could tell me how it really works, that would be nice.

H=Just saw your responses. I hav version 3.3 and did not really find the option to change it. Tips? Or is it not availlable in this version?

Available as an auto-feature (meaning you can not switch it off) averageing function of BB strategy in 3.3.3 (read up at github on how it Works https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/releases?after=4.0.1patched). In versions 3.3.4 and 3.3.5 it changed to a switchable function, again read it up, same page ... and this functions stays as switchable till the last version. you should do a little research before you use the bot. It's all written in the instructions of the versions. Version 3.3.2 has double buys as a bug (not a feature this time).

Ha that's interesting to read aleks - I didn't read anything about 3.3.3+

I've not seen many comments about them here, or missed them: do you think 3.3.? is "better" (more reliable?) than the Legacy 3.3.2 ?

hard to say. the series 3 bots are utterly useless on Kraken (I'm on Kraken), so I jumped at 4.0.1 the first day it came out. never looked back.

Oooh OK. Do you have success trading EUR or fiat currency in Kraken with the bot?
I wish I could do this (and I've a registered Kraken account, but don't think their API is reliable...)

It is working, providing the market cooperates. I won't lie, there are bags on the odd occasion (or two  ), but the bags get the paramecie treatment. There is not a huge profit to be made, generally my sales strategy is stepgain, starting with 1.32% (to get at least 1% gain, fees are 0.16+0.16%). A normal gain strategy would suffice, as the gains rarely get higher than 1.5%. For buying I still use BB, with low BB set really low (1 or less) which is more or less at the "real" height of BB50. This tactic does still not protect from bags, and it prevents high gains, but it moves quickly, like: fast in, fast  out. There will be sometimes the two or three days "pause" period when nothing happens, as the money flows more into bitcoin than any other altcoin listed on Kraken. I've seen this dry spell since tuesday. Total daily gains were about 1.3% till tuesday, and then I lost about half of the october gains since, in 3 days ...

I may acquire a Kraken licence one of these days...
Right now I'm in pause, waiting for the new stable version and thinking.

I don't like this guy, but watched this and it made me think about a trade strategy...
I wonder if this can be applied and working, especially taking account the fees, which are relatively high (like bittrex 0.25% buying and 0.25% selling, it's not neglectable...)

For me anyway, the bot, or any bot, can make profits, IMO the main problem is the bags, or the losses if you stop-loss.
There is somewhere a working solution...

Worth a try. I volunteer (as I'm regardnig my gunbot as a hobby, so no tears over lost percents). The technique described is actually pretty easy to set. I will go on 1risk vs 1.5risk in loss to profit ratio. Starting of today 9.50 CET. As to not risk to much capital, I start with 174.25€ capital in various bags out of which there are 48.15€ in base currency. Trading limit is set to 20€ per trade. 1risk is worth 1.5%. This should also keep fees at bay, and Krakaen already has low fees, 0.16%. ... aaand already clearing bags (at loss). Lets see what the casino brings in a week (I promise not to touch anything except trading pairs). If the market turns in a week I may lift the loss to profit ratio. For now of all ZEUR pairs I have disabled buying on DASH and ETC.

Please also read forum/github on the GB success of stop-loss, as if I remember well, some version have had signaled problems.
The key in this above technic is to make tiny losses; so, hopefully GB behaves well!

I got some strange behaviour on the stop limit function. Am I missing something? I don't know what causes this, but the 5.0.4 bot complied in the first instance of stop limit, but failed in all others. Are there any issues with the stop limit function that I'm not aware of? A stop limit bug? I tried restarting the bot, calculated by hand many times, and although the stop limit is set at 1.5, it didn't sell even at 10%. Experiment suspended, untill I can sort this out. Then I'll start over. Is stop limit more reliant in any of the 5.0.5.x iteratons?
