Found a method which addresses the initial question. The solution is to change the localhost IP address from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0, which allows connecting to the host IP address:5000.

I have attempted to change the localhost IP from 127.0.0.1 in the config.js file to an IP on an interface, and no luck.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
