Beginners & Help / Emotionless recently started selling at a loss?
« on: March 02, 2018, 11:09:26 PM »
I've been running the bot since late December and everything has been working exactly as expected. Recently I started seeing a couple of "can't find buy price" messages in the logs and I've also had a couple of times where the bot sold my bag at a loss. I haven't noticed a correlation between the two and I assume the bot wouldn't sell without knowing the buy price, but it was just interesting they both started about the same time.

I was just curious if I missed something with the emotionless strategy that it's programmed to sell at a loss under certain conditions or if there may be something else going on that I should look in to.

Edit: Feel free to ignore this, I just read up on the Stop Limit function.

at the moment i have 34 pairs.

if you want to use VNC you don't need any screen. thats what it is for. if you really need a GUI.

this is how it will look like when you use VNC:

Another option is to just visit [RaspberryPi's IP address]:5000 from the browser on another computer on the network. I just find it a slightly more "elegant" way of interacting with the bot once it's running.

Beginners & Help / Re: What happens after initial purchases

The bot should sell what it bought to each pair once the price or other parameters are met. I've just started with the bot using only the emotionless strategy but the basic idea should still be the same.

Okay, I resized my DO droplet to one with more memory so I seem to have fixed the restarting issue, but now I'm trying to set gunthy-gui-linx64 to run as a system service and I'm getting the "Empty Logs" message. If I run gunthy-gui-linx64 manually with my user account the logs display correctly, and I've tried deleting err.log and out.log but I still get the empty logs message when running as a service. I was trying to get the service to run as my user but my limitations in Linux knowledge are starting to show themselves.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, processor use seems fine, but I do have 2 wordpress instances running on the same VPS so RAM is down to 80-100 mb available. I am curious if this is what's causing the issue since it would be nice to be able to access my bot remotely through a browser as opposed to having to use teamviewer or something like that.

I just wanted to find out whether this would create a problem with the operation of the bot and/or if I can find a way to stop this from happening. I notice the log "resets" whenever gunthy restarts and I'm assuming this creates some kind of hiccup in the way the bot is running. I've noticed gunthy does restart on my workstation but it doesn't happen anywhere near as often as it does with my server. I'm running the "remote" instance on the lowest tier DigitalOcean droplet, would it be worthwhile to upgrade my droplet so there's some more breathing room in terms of RAM and CPU?
