Technical Support & Development / Re: Buying at peaks on 4.0.5

This behaviour seems to be very very consistent. See in the screenshot from today.

Technical Support & Development / Re: no trades with Gunbot 5.0.4 on bittrex
« on: September 27, 2017, 05:41:39 PM »
... my bot does not not anymore at bittrex out of no where ...

???
I don't comprehend what that means.

FYI:
* 3.3.2 still works fine on Windows/Bittrex as of right now (I do use it).
* 5.0.4 is a bit buggy in buying prices, better wait for the 5.0.5 version, within next 24 hrs Gunthar said.

First of all, set double_up to false.

Then READ a lot the Help/beginners section, like:
https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,306.0.html
https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,5.0.html
https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,4.0.html
https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,3.0.html
...

Pick ONE slowly climbing pair, with some volume.
Don't learn with more than one pair.

Hoping it helps?

This must be a problem in your config.js file  ::)

General Discussion / Re: changing config file while gunbot is running

I'll have to look at it deeper to see if the bot looses data on the EMAs and BBs (not sure).

It must: suppose you just changed the EMA settings, how could it use the previous EMA?
In short, if EMA is 2 hours, it'll take 2 hours to get a reliable EMA back.

IMO...

>I guess you misunderstood what I typed, because I'm pretty sure we're in agreement. I just didn't specify that Gunbot will go beyond the Bollinger bands IF it sees the opportunity.

Ah yes, maybe - not my language, sorry :-(

>I've noticed that even when a price is soaring above the high Bollinger band, and even if Gunbot is waiting to sell as the price climbs, a small and short dip in price will cause the bot to sell and ultimately miss out on much further soaring the price is about to do right after the small blip of a dip that caused the sale. It'd be kinda cool to have an option that lets the bot ignore small blip dips up to a small relative percentage of the climb it's been making in attempt to ride an overall wave all the way up.... Did that make sense? ;)

Yes, totally agree on the small blips.
But discussing the best strategy or any better ways for it to take decisions is simply a loss of time - when he sometimes does silly things, see 5.0.4 version (at least) bugs in Github. Hopefully 5.0.5 is released soon...

147
That's normal, BB is "linked" to GAIN.

He won't buy before the price is BUY_LEVEL % under the lowest EMA.

There are many Gunthar posts in Help/Beginner section, please read.

No: it will sell, which is fine (for me).

The most critical point being when to buy, as selling higher is easy.

This isn't a car.  This is a digital license and it's controlled by Gunthar.  And *only* Gunthar.

Then if it's fucked up, fix it.

Don't pay the seller before:
1° the buyer confirms directly or indirectly (with a forum post...) that the product is usable,
2° or 15 days has passed with no news from the buyer after the licence number was sent to him.

Because right now, someone paid, can't use what he bought, and you're in the middle of the transaction: you just can't say "not my business" :P

All said kindly (and hoping Gunthar has no major problem, as he doesn't seem to be present or too busy?)

Another way would be to set BUY_ENABLED to false, so you can buy manually and let him sell.
This way you won't buy any unwanted crap.
And 5.x will show you anyway the buy opportunities.

151
What is exactly you problem? I don't think you really need him.

Yes, he needs to have his licence validated for the 5.x version - it's a specific process.

BUY_LEVEL: 0.6
GAIN: 2
HIGH_BB: 25
LOW_BB: 25

That may be the cause.

Invert BUY_LEVEL and GAIN, at least.

For a *cool* configuration, BUY should be 5 up to 3 maybe.
This means it won't buy if the price is ABOVE 5 to 3% UNDER EMA (1 or 2, the lowest).
It ensures not to buy too high.

GAIN is the profit you expect, it won't sell unless you'll make 2% (here) profit from the bought price.
A cool configuration would be closer to 1% or even less (but count your trade fees).

Those are basic parameters.

There are really plenty of tutos and pages from Gunthar in the Help part of the forum.
Please take time to read.

153
Why not post infos like: config file (without API keys!), market place, system, etc.?

A Licence is NOT a number, a code, a paper, or anything else than: the ability and RIGHT to use something.

The delivered licence number doesn't change that the buyer isn't able to use this software, that means the escrow didn't transmit him the possibility to use the software.

Who cares who's falt it is - that's a second problem.

Please immediately process this licence or fully refund him.

PS: of course, if the OP post is the truth and didn't change at the date of this post.

155
GB wil (should) buy from ZERO up to LowBB+X%
GB will (should) sell from HighBB-Y% up to INFINITE

Note GAIN and BUY_LEVEL are important factors in BB
And bugs also in 5.0.4 at least - 5.0.5 are announced to correct them.

The Bollinger Band buy/sell % settings are supposed to be when the price reaches within whatever % you set.
Meaning buy when the price is within X% above the low BB, or sell when the price is within X% below the top. I was also confused by this at first, but it makes perfect sense. However, it seems lately like the bot is trying to buy BELOW the low BB and sell ABOVE the high BB. (this is great and all if you're down to wait and hope it reaches those low and high points to buy and sell, but pretty sure that's not how it's intended to work.)

Sorry it's wrong.
GB wil buy from ZERO up to LowBB+X%
GB will sell from HighBB-Y% up to INFINITE

There is many information on the Help/beginners section, please read.

157
No pb. Great you've fixed it! Good luck.

Sure you can it'll detect and apply.

Only problem, and AFAIK and as much the Dev wrote about this (none), I think it'll reset the averages SMA, EMA1, EMA2, BB... as if you just started the bot.

159
Post your config - WITHOUT the api keys.

As much as I like GB and appreciate people here, and if what you say is true (and you didn't miss something), I must admit waiting 2 weeks after an online payment for a registration key is a shame :-(

Maybe Gunthar should give some trust friend the right and means to manage those licence numbers for him.
Just my 2 cents.

Ah, and for your downloading:

PS: pirated may work, or may spread deep sh^t on your computer or possess your marketplace account (API, you know?).
Personnaly I'm not gonna play with this kind of crapware when it's money related.
