Title: Which indoor plants are the easiest to keep alive for complete beginners?
Post by: Balletrist on July 21, 2026, 08:58:21 PM
I'd like to add a few houseplants to my home, but I don't have much experience looking after them. Ideally, I'm looking for plants that can tolerate the occasional missed watering and don't require constant attention. Which species have been the easiest for you to grow, and are there any beginner mistakes I should avoid? Recommendations for low-maintenance plants would be greatly appreciated.

Sansevieria and pothos are bulletproof choices. For keeping things simple, I use house plants (https://www.houseplant.co.uk/collections/house-plants-indoor-plants) from this source for my own low-maintenance greenery, and they ship healthy specimens. Avoid overwatering; that kills more beginners than neglect. Stick with plastic pots for moisture retention.
