General Discussion / Re: XT version sending/receiving a TON of data
« on: December 13, 2017, 01:25:59 AM »
if anyone is interested. i received an answer in the bitcointalk thread

i ran XT for a little less than 2 weeks and had to shut it down because it downloaded over 800GB worth of data triggering a nastygram from Comcast. has this issue been fixed? i would like to start using it again but this bandwidth issue makes that impossible

any other information on this problem? i've asked on the Gunthy forum but received no response other than some replies/PMs that other people were seeing the same thing

Yes the issue has been solved (even tho it wasnt properly an issue: if we want to collect close arrays and trading history to calculate our indicators, we need to fetch "some" data somehow). Anyway stay tuned for the v7.0.1 coming out this week: it has that fix. Or join us in the beta group on telegram (PM me for details) to start using it right now.

There is def. something crazy going on, I just checked my server (only used for gunbot) and it downloaded 18 Gigabytes within 4 hours!!! I have 3 instances with a total of 26 pairs!
Something is def. not ok with the bot, its just a few numbers, how can it be that much data???
Please developers fix this as soon as possible!!!

thank you for confirming this issue. would really like some sort of response from the devs on this.

General Discussion / XT version sending/receiving a TON of data
« on: December 02, 2017, 12:12:48 AM »
After running the new XT version for 2 weeks i got an email from Comcast saying I had gone over my 1TB data limit for the month. This seemed totally absurd to me because i've never even used half of it before. I stream Netflix a ton, 8 or more hours a day and never even been close to my data limit before. The only thing that has changed in the last month is this XT version. I've spent the last 2 days running some tests with WireShark and found that Gunbot is consuming more data than streaming Netflix. How can this be possible? Running 3.2 with the same number of pairs is using almost no data. What is going on with this thing?

Is this and upgrade or a "different" piece of software? will my current license work with it? It isn't very clear what exactly this is...

The %GAIN and BUY LEVEL settings override the BB settings
It's not intuitive or explained anywhere other than when someone asks this question

Asked Gunthar about it once and got a snippy reply back. Decided not to push it. It's an obvious bug and one that's apparently a touchy subject for him or something... Just had a triple buy occur on one of my pairs. Hoping it sells soon because it's tied up quite a bit of my wallet at the moment.

it's not possible. bittrex uses its data to calculate the lines, gunbot uses whatever data it's collected over the past 300(adjustable) cycles. they are both using different numbers to calculate the BBs. you can't get them to match.

i set bittrex to 15 minute candles and the BB period to somewhere between 12-18 and it tends to be fairly close a lot of the time.

i've heard some people say to set it to 50 but there is no way that's right. 50periods*15minute candles=750minutes which would be 12.5 hours of data.

my understanding is this. (i could be totally wrong)
gunbot is rarely using that much data to calculate its BBs. if you set gunbot to use 300 latest prices and have it collecting data every 20 seconds that would be 300*20=6000seconds = 100minutes worth of data.

Beginners & Help / Re: Cant get the bot to connect to the exchange
« on: September 14, 2017, 05:32:55 PM »
i dont know... i've copyed and pasted it 6 7 8 times and the secret too. its funny because it connects to bittrex perfectly

did you buy a license for both exchanges?
1 license only works on 1 exchange. if you're connected to bittrex then you are good to go. if you also bought a license for poloniex then you should contact Gunthar to see why it won't connect.

Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone explain this "Price to Buy"
« on: September 12, 2017, 02:29:41 AM »
How long has the bot been running?  It may still be using the 3% below EMA as a buy level because it doesn't have enough data on that pair to calculate an accurate bollinger band.

20 second delays times 806 cycles = ~4.5 hours

Got an answer from Gunthar. He says the Gain number (%gain and buy level) affect your price to buy when running BB strategy regardless of how long the bot has been running. This is not what i had read earlier. I was also under the impression that it just used those until it had enough info to calculate the BB but apparently they affect it at all times.

Beginners & Help / Can someone explain this "Price to Buy"
« on: September 06, 2017, 11:14:19 PM »
Pair BTC/ETH

Strat: Buy-BB  Sell-BB
% Low BB 25
% High BB 25

Gunbot says Low Bollinger Band is 0.0730885 but its price to buy is 0.07120755078166667

Why is the buy price WAY below the low BB?

General Discussion / Re: Bollinger Band settings on Gunbot and Bittrix
« on: September 06, 2017, 07:12:26 AM »
It's a common question but, to my knowledge, there is no solution for Bittrex.

Your GunBot generates its own BB via its own calculations --- Bittrex doesn't send BB calcs to the bot.

So I don't have an answer and I've never read one.

but there's got to be a way to tweak the BB on bittrex to match (or at least get very close) to what the bot is calculating.
i've seen several people give answers and even some youtube videos but none of the settings i have tried will mimic the lines that gunbot is drawing.

I've been trying to figure this out for hours. i can't believe this information isn't pinned somewhere.
