Title: Gunbot bought 3 lots of the same alt coin
Post by: Rotellian on September 08, 2017, 05:58:21 PM
As title - gunbot bought 3 lots of the same coin, i know sometimes it will buy an extra lot if it looks good, but should it buy a 3rd one?   Cheers

Mine did a bunch last night, but I don't think it's 'because it looks good.'  I think it happens with it places an order and the order doesn't fill; so it places another order.  I'd consider that a bug, but I don't sweat it too much.  Typically it works out for the better, but today it didn't.  The second of the two orders was lower, but when it did eventually sell both orders it did at a net loss.  This doesn't happen too much so I'm not worrying about it because v5 is supposed to right around the corner!

Yes,  when it eventually sold the 3 lots it did so at a loss, which is a cause for concern.   Ive upped the amount im trading with but im not actually making any more profit.

Gunbot should never sell at a loss! Is there something wrong in your settings?

Something similar happend to me this morning. Looking at the opened and closed dates i guess the buy-order wasn't filled quickly enough so the bot decided to create another one. Strangely enough at the exact same price. It worked out in the end but i don't really want to increase my Max balance to trade until this is fixed. I am using v3.3. Does anybody know if this is fixed in a more recent version?

Nope, its completely std (just doing BB with settings as it comes), not altered anything other than the amount of btc to trade.    It doesnt seem to be doing very well at the moment, i was assuming it was market conditions.   It was doing rather better around a week ago when i was trading with far less.

It also bought a whole shitload of bags overnight, i think i should turn it off.   Maybe start again with fewer pairs.

Bought a double lot of another one overnight.  Seems a regular occurrence.

I'm assuming the bot bought at different prices and the last order happened to be the one with the lowest price. Then it used that price to determine the selling price, which would be lower than the selling price for the first order.

I thought that, but that doesnt work out either.  It sold at 0.074 but even using the slightly lower 3rd buy price it shouldn't have been lower than 0.075.

This happened to me last night. I think it is a bug. I think it should check all buys since the last sell and average them to get a mean price then use that to base a sell price on.

Asked Gunthar about it once and got a snippy reply back. Decided not to push it. It's an obvious bug and one that's apparently a touchy subject for him or something... Just had a triple buy occur on one of my pairs. Hoping it sells soon because it's tied up quite a bit of my wallet at the moment.

It's a known bug of v3.3 at Bittrex. It something do multiple buys, specially when you connection is slow or lagged. Hopefully v5.0.5 will be launched very soon and that bugs (and some others) are fixed  ;)
