Beginners & Help / TSSL with trailme Sell
« on: September 05, 2020, 04:29:54 PM »
Do TSSL sell and trailme sell do the same thing?

Like if you are using TSSL to sell and select the trailme option, is it redundant?

Also, I have a coin that is buying multiple times on a single crossover.
Is that the resolution of the panel not showing the actual crossovers?
Or is it a setting?
Or a bug?

I had the trading Limit set higher than the minimum.

I reset the trading limit to 0.001 and minimum to 0.0005.

Will see what it does.

So, I have Gunbot set up like I want (or close) and it is trading, but when Gunbot sells it is not selling all my holdings.

It sells everything except for 0.2506% every time it sells.

Is there any way to correct this?

Beginners & Help / Gunbot 18.8.8 set period
« on: August 27, 2020, 01:59:55 AM »
I am coming from the old version of gunbot which was pretty simple to use.
But this new version 18 seems counter intuitive.

I have figured out most of it, but for the life of me, I cant find where to set the period for candlesticks.
It is set in a way that returns an error on Bittrex.

Where is the setting for period?

Got it worked out. Thanks

Haven't used gunbot in a while.
I own the old version, I think I went up to version 8 or 9.

In the old version, there was no gunthy wallet. Now there is.

I installed and got everything set up, key and secret etc, and set up the exchange.

I created a Gunthy wallet which is now empty.

I assume the coin paid for gunbot goes into this wallet?
Or is there something I am missing?

Anyway when I run gunthy-win.exe the text in the window continuously runs and returns this message...

"Failure to meet minimum Gunthy token balance requirement to operate the bot. Please purchase more tokens to run the bot..."

So, what do I need to do to get this version running?

General Discussion / Suddenly gunbot is not selling.
« on: April 13, 2018, 03:41:49 AM »
I had 2 runups 2 different coins and gunbot did not sell. One 12% up and the other 8%.
And then they turned down and back up with parameters met, but no sales execution.
I am running on Vulture.

Running stepgain with gain set to 2%, 3 steps, 2,4,12.

Also Logs dont work.
If I stop and start GB, or apply a configuration change, it shows the green config text in the logs box and then does nothing else.

I think abotu the time the logs stopped, GB stopped trading.

Correct. When the price is down for a pair, (and or if the gain conditions are not met) and if you don't have double up enabled, the bot wont buy anymore.

You have a few ways out if you don't have double up enabled.

Double up manually, using some type of fundamental.
Dump your bags at a loss, and then let the bot buy again
I personally hate selling at a big loss, but sometimes it is necessary, because you will get stuck, eventuially.

This bot is not perfect, not even close, and you have to monitor it closely, and make sure all the settings are the best they can be for the conditions and the specific pair.

As usual, the real trick is catching the bottom on buys and avoiding getting stuck and knowing when to sell.
From my short time playing with Altcoins, there are some coins that tank really hard, fast and deep. And at times they all tank hard, but the ones to trade are coins that recover well, obviously.

The problem with automatic DU is that you need big reserves, and you need to DU a large amount. To get out without a loss, IMO you need the first DU to be near the bottom of a short trend, and it needs to be about 4x at least but that can vary. That said, if you miss and DU too soon, with a too high DU price, then you are sort of screwed if the price continues to fall.

With altcoins, the market is so volatile with buyers pumping coins etc, that predictability is very difficult.

I am also stuck right now.

Do you still need to restart the latest version of gunbot after a manual buy or sell?

Everything was running fine, and then BBrsistepgain disappeared from the strategies and GB is not running.

Anybody know what is going on?

There is not minimum to make a profit. Actually you should start low until you figure it out.

I could not get Amazon AWS to run properly. Very slow.
Vulture was very easy to set up, but very slow.

Right now I am running 1&1 windows 4GB/ 2 proc, which is very fast, reliable and not cheap at $40 a month.

Looking for something like it but at $20.

With the latest version it is acting better, although still sells too low on occasion.

General Discussion / Re: Can't wait till I can afford Gunbot!!
« on: December 15, 2017, 03:27:36 PM »
I'm not expecting to double my money all the time, in fact I'd love consistent, daily gains of 20% from Gunbot.

I got in 2 litecoins @ $180 and made a few dollars, added a couple more hundred and then diversified into Paragon Coin (PRG) IOTA, EOS, XRP & many more to come!

I'm banking on Paragon Coin for sure - that's a secret that will revolutionize the cannabis industry.

I'm also going to go hard on Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality tokens, which I've found a couple of thus far - Spectiv & Lucyd.

Gunbot is a tool and you still need a good brain behind it to run it properly.  Sadly it's just a tool out of my reach for quite some time right now.

Unless that XRP pops to $5 soon  ;D

20% of your funding is not realistic on a daily basis IMO.
1% daily is more like it. 2-3% on a good day.
Some do 5%.

There are ups and downs and losses in trading, so you run an average.

However in an isolated case, 20% or more is very doable.

And you never want to have all your $ in on the first buy.

You diversify, and on dips you may want to double up and more than once.

The way I have been setting up lately is on first buy to invest about 14% if my math is correct.
That way it allows me to do another 2x buy and another 4x buy on dips.

So if you have .1 BTC to play with, your buys would be based on .002 BTC per, etc.

While you are waiting to buy gunbot, you should be manual trading your ass off, and you will gain and lose. Most importantly, IMO, is you want to learn how not to get trapped when prices go into the toilet. And then run out of $ to trade.

Most important thing about trading, is learning when and how to buy.
Selling for a profit is easy if you know when and where to buy.

For me, stepgain usually sells too early on a minor dip.

Exactly what controls Xtrend, and how can I set it to avoid selling on minor dips?

Do EMA1 and EMA2 control it? Or it it a combination of indicators?

Will raising EMA1 and EMA2 allow GB to miss the minor sell dips?

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: DOUBLE_UP on bbstepgain
« on: December 10, 2017, 06:26:15 PM »
You should be very careful with this one, because IMO it does not have enough control to make it work in a way that would be profitable.

And keep in mind its not a simple double. It buys like this...1x 2x 4x 8x etc.

When I tested double_up, it was buying sideways and in one case slightly up, when it should have been averaging down.

Currently, using double_up, GB buys when the upper Bollinger Band drops below the latest average buy price.

But in my case it was sort of buying all over the place so it was not averaging down.

And it keeps on buying doubling up every time based on the averaged price when that price crosses the upper bollinger band.

Doesn't work for me.

What the developers need is a single_up option and a double_up option, both with limits on how many cycles it will buy.
Both with conditions to be met.

IE not everybody wants to double_up. At times, I would prefer to single_up whenever a condition is met. IE only buy the same amount every time. Always buy 1x. Like set it up to single_up twice max.

At times double-up would be best if you have the funds.

But the problem is, how it is running now, it is sort of uncontrollable and solely dependent on the upper bollinger band.

DOUBLE_UP should be controlled BY CONDITIONS, something like this...

Maybe the developers will read this.

Say the price is 100 and you own 10 coins.

Double_up conditions to be met, should have at least these options below IMO.

Xtend = down
RSI = whatever you set - say 20.
Price = % below the last buy - say 10%
Share multiplier = amount above the previous buy - say 1 for this test.
Number of average down buy cycles = maximum times GB will average down if conditions are met = say 4 double_up cycles for this test

So, in this test case you would double up when the trend is down, RSI is 20 or below, and the price is 10% below the last buy. First buy is 1x.

Price down to to 90, conditions are met, GB 1x buys 10 at 90.
Price down to 81, conditions are met, GB 2x buys 20 at 81.
Price down to 73, conditions are met, GB 4x buys 40 at 73.
Price down to 65.7, conditions are met, GB 8x buys 80 at 65.7.

After losing 34% in position, you would have bought 15x coins and your average price would be 71.31.

Double_up definatly needs more control.
