Title: Emotionless Strategy and GunBot Operation
Post by: pwaggs on May 09, 2018, 06:51:49 PM
Running GunBot now for 48 hours. Brand new user and this is my first execution of my Bot. I have been running emotionless strategy with 9 BTC training pairs. Of the 9 trading pairs, 4 of them the market has gone down on and they have not sold. So I have 4 tiny mini bags. But the strategy seems to be missing out on opportunity with the coin now bouncing around nicely above an below the new sell line I can see on the GUI.

Question: Is my Bot waiting to sell its current bag of coin before purchasing another or is there a way to get it to buy another bag of the same coin hoping that it will find a sell line at the new level it is trading at and keeping that original bag for when the market recovers.

Question: Is there a graceful way to kill a bot or do you just wait until your bags are all empty and kill it efore starting a new one. I would be interested in starting another Bot with new coins in its plan, but I don't really like the idea of killing my current Bot with four bags lingering out there.

Ok, live and learn on my part. Nobody answered these questions probably as they are too easy, but I have since figured them out. So to the next new guy:

1. Bags are a fact of life. It is up to you how you want to handle them. Eventually they will be cleared and the bot will sell, you just need to determine how long you want to wait. After watching my bot run for 5 days now, I think that I will just wait for future bags to sell unless I feel like really monitoring in which case one can execute some doubling down strategies, but again those would be on you and not the bot to maintain. As for how the bot works, in the emotionless strategy, to answer my original question, yes it is missing out on all of those opportunities while looking to sell the bag. It is emotionless though. Just forget the bags and wait for the eventual sell.

2. I am not sure what the answer is in the Gunthy Gui, however, with the Zeno Gui, you can simply toggle a coin on and off once your bag has cleared if you want to kill that portion of the program. Just do this until your present Bot is no longer being fed.

3. Just a big lesson learned around the time I wrote this initial question. Don't run out of BNB while using the BNB rate to calculate costs. You will start running at a loss quickly.

As someone already said, bags are normal. I mean, there isn't any single trader in the world who get 100% profitable trades within 24 hours, so when the trend goes againt you, you can do several things:

- Dollar Cost Average
- Stop limit

Those things will help you to get rid of your bags. Also note that it's important to choose good pairs and don't go against the main trend.

It's basically a 1, 2, 3...:

1. Always do your homework and select the right pair, go with the trend and have a sound [also exit] strategy;

2. Set DCA to "average down" if your timing is a bit off (but you still have faith in step 1), but ALWAYS;

3. Set a Stop Limit to (eventually) get out of a "bad" trade (which can also happen to the best of us)...
