We know the bot try to use the trading limit.
I think it would be great if the bot reinvests all value on balance, not just the trading limit

With BTC pairs gunbot can do it fine, even when  trading limit is much higher than BTC balance, it takes exactly the amount I have on BTC balance.
With USDT pairs and trading limit higher than balance, it would use the balance+fee, then the sell order will fail.

I think it would be fine to have an option to let the bot use all balance minus 0,25% everytime, so I wouldn't need to increase the trading limit everytime my USDT balance increases.

Create the option to let the bot sell just when it reaches sell price, when speed becomes steady, or any manually defined velocity like grows(1), grows(2), falls(-1), falls (-2)...
Because sometimes in the exact moment the price starts to fall the price become much lower than sell price, it happens when the peak price is only a bit higher than sell price.

Gunbot should take account the average buy price when calculating the sell price not the latest buy price.

Situation: Some coin is worth of 0.1 BTC and gunbot buys some. Then the price of the coin falls to 0.05 BTC. Then, to lower the cost of the price per coin, user manually buys at 0.05. Gunbot should recalculate the sell price according to the average buy price of the coin.

For now it calculates the sell price over the latest buy price and this can lead to BTC loss.

When LOW BB is close to EMA it is a lowtrend, comparing both is a much better method to see the trend than based on last X prices only, because sometimes on a downtrend there a little price growing moments where the bot thinks it is the end of the downtrend.

Please include an option to detect trend based on LOW BB and EMA correlation.

Double buy on Polo with 3.3.2. Its saying "WARNING: we already bought" but places the order anyways. I now have two open orders. Seems like a very rare situation, I have not observed that before. Using STEPGAIN.

Running 3.3.2 i am still running in to the Waiting to sell when I hold no coins and there is no open orders. This comes after a real order to sell and it does sell them but at some point it still thinks it's waiting to sell. Also this was after deleting the save.json files for that pair as instructed in the chat originally.

Arm binaries don't work (on v3.3) :

With "raspbian-jessie" image the binary version v3.3 of gunbot give me same error messages :

(chmod 777 for all bin ...)

Binaries maybe compiled for intel x64 and  x86.

Check your memory usage with task manager.
With a windows (vps) 1Gb memory, with only gunbot, you can launch 10-12 pairs before memory fault.

I am on a dedicated machine with 8gb ram. usage has always been low. It only happened once but over in Chat had the same issue. It only happens when you try and start a pair

Hi, I've been running the bot on v3.3.2 and I have pairs suddenly stopping (the bottom log window becomes blank) while other pairs continue running (10 pairs in total). Eventually, they all stop and I have to restart the pairs once I come back from work or wake up. Hopefully these logs and images explain my issue better.

The message on the top window says the last callback for my BTC-BTM pair was at 21:31. However, the price there is not actually up to date (I checked Polo to confirm the price was not current).



Error Logs (the bot was stopped at 16:30 and I restarted the bot at ~19:07. The bot stopped again around 19:38 showing no other error messages and the log on the GUI disappearing):

As I understand  priceToSell = (boughtPrice 0.00000896) - (SECURITY_MARGIN 8.0) = 0.00000896 - 8% = 0.00000824
But the bot shows secMargin 0.000007587240000000001 (18,2% of boughtPrice)

As you can see "sec margin" is constantly changing at each step:

Accordingly, regardless of assets - calculation formula is "sec margin = SMA -%". Therefore, the bot will never sell This problem is observed in all running pairs

Take a look at the price the bot bought at and at the price the bot is trying to sell.
Then look at the stepgain settings, which start from 25% at lvl1

Maybe usefull to report this:

GB Handling of very amounts of coins.
When having very small amounts of coins, GB is unable to sell them (because of the minimum BTC required?) which effectively locks the pair.

workaround: manually buy extra altcoins and sell them.

I might have an idea for how to catch pumps and dumps more effectively.
 What if gunbot started using stop-limit orders and micro trades for both step-gain and BB.
 I'm thinking like this. price moves past lvl 1. Bot makes stop-limit order there and then waits. Second level, bot moves the stop-limit order to 2nd lvl. Then it waits again, until price is higher(or lower if buy mode)and start splitting up the order into smaller ones and spreading them out. This spreading out would mitigate the effects of "wrongly colored" candles in both up and down trends, since you would have some of the coins left if price climbs more, and in that case the bot would gradually move the stop-limit orders step by step to maximize profit.
With this the only difference would be that you buy lower/sell higher then you do currently, at least I can't see any issues with this.

I am also thinking a wall detector for the bot would be really handy, so the bot wouldn't try to get past walls. Maybe there is already, I have no idea..??

That would explain no matter what settings I have tried in last five days I can not get a stepgain buy/sell past level 1 no matter how far a pump (or dump) goes.  With stepgain I keep buying at the top 2% of a 20% dump and selling at the first 3% of a 15% pump regardless of settings (stepgain, max latest prices for trend, etc...), I've been assuming Gunbot just pulls the trigger as soon as it sees first reversal in trend, without ability to ride out momentary and normal price flux on the way up/down, and trying to figure out a way to make it more tolerant of those momentary gyrations on a pump/dump journey...

I have been running around 20 pairs the last couple of days and the "info/console log" on the bottom is totally black, there are no movements registered.
I tried restarting those pairs and the Gunbot started working perfectly on those pairs, it started to buy when the price was low but then the price got up and the Gunbot did not sell.
When I got home I checked the Gunbot and the log at the top showed everything as normal but at the bottom the info log was totally black; no movements registered.
I waited another day but it still did not sell and I had to sell it manually at a small loss..

On the other pairs it runs normally, every 120 sec checking for the price and analyzing the data.
But I am getting these problems on about 30-40% of the pairs that I´m running...

Coincidentally to the person a few posts up indicating multibuys with LBC, I have had an issue with the same pair today.  Upon review of an excited 0.02BTC gain reported by Gunbot, it turned out to be a loss of (0.005)BTC which would also indicate some sort of issue with the profit calculation by Gunbot.  I do not think this is the first time I have had discrepancies between calculated and Gunbot, but this is only the first time I have noticed a large enough discrepancy to report.  I will look into old logs when I have the time.  Slightly worried about multibuy costing me money.

Sounds like a similar experience to mine. I just setup a windows VPS. Tried following on the linux instructions but I got lost somewhere.  I will eventually get around this. I just want to start this thing! I think our observations are a normal part of the new version?? I hope Gun can comment

Bot sold at a loss today using Stepgain/Stepgain w/ default settings, pics below and a copy of the log.  It bought, and then before it sold it showed the bought price as much lower than what it actually recorded the buy price at.  It also records the sold price incorrectly.

Here is a case where;
Thelast price was 0.0204
The GAIN price to buy is 0.019646333
but in the underlined,  the last price is displayed as 204.000 and GAIN price to buy as 196.4633...

Proxy Issue?

I am running the Bot (recent Polo version 3.3.1 on windows) iin a corporate network and need to use a Proxy to connect to the interwebs.
But all I'm getting is the error mentioned below.
I am successfully running on other win machines and I am comfortable to configure them (just as cryptonauta suggest in the telegram group) but these configs don't help.

Multiple BUYs and a SELL for a loss on Bittrex.   But a profit on next buy/sell.

Manual buys will mess up the bot's ability to sell properly (will probably sell at a loss).

Currently, the bot will override it's buy price with the latest (manual buy) price.   It will then ignore any buy prices that it used before this... Only the last bought price in the My Trades book is used.

So if it buys:
BOT-->            AMT: 50    LP = $2     Paid $100   
and then then coin drops -- and I manually buy
MANUAL-->     AMT:30    LP=$1.50   Paid $45

It will throw away the "$2" price completely, and start selling GAIN% above price $1.50 (with all 80 coins).   This will be a loss.   This is probably unnecessary, but I'll do the simple math below to show it's a loss.   I'm assuming GAIN is at 0% for ease of computation (it should buy and sell and break EVEN with gain at 0%)

If the bot sells the 80 units at $1.50 (ignoring the fact it bought the 50 at a higher price) it will reap $120.    But there is $145 invested.  This is a loss of $25

Note: if you are freaked out that I have GAIN set to 0% -- ok, lets say it was at 2.5% --- it would then sell at $123 instead of $120... Still a loss of $22

Also good to know: Gunbot cancels ALL your manual sell orders you might have set for some expensive manual trades that are expected to bounce back soon, but when you want gunbot to trade on smaller volatility while it returns to that point, can get pretty expensive....

Step Gain doesn't work: it sells in one go, most of the time at a profit (% yet to examine more closely)

Occasionally it sells at a loss.
(or very frequently when you think it's a smart idea to buy a pair that is being pumped to the moon (as price goes beyond upper BB GB thinks price is too high to buy) and you think its a great idea to use GB GAIN %, it will sell quickly again and again..., while you think you are doing great in this pump, it sells at its old sell price still set from it's last buy...(as kindly explained in post above) I learned it the hard way by pissing away a a few hundred bucks of coin in a state of euphoria 
(I only noticed it when I looked up the pair in cointracking.info even with the losses almost break even due to the pump )

OR: it doesn't sell when it should at Sell level 1 when you have a higher value in GAIN setting..
(I knew it defaults to GAIN when it lacks data so still had it at 5% (from the above gb & me pump adventure ) but this is after running for hours on bittrex with delay at 8/8)

I also have seen multiple buys at the same price, so I advise you reduce max trade as I have found 0.1 BTC can go down hill pretty quick....

So a high setting in GAIN can prevent SG from selling at a %profit set in Sell level 1, but I have also seen sells at a loss when it disregards GAIN setting (not sure if it happens early when GAIN is supposed to replace lack of data or of its something else). Nothing really big (yet) but would definitely double check your config for each pair (perhaps try GAIN 3 or maybe go for old-fashioned BB for now)

Multiple 0.1-0.2 BTC buys of a now plummeted short term shitcoin that was getting lots of action before you dozed off and that should have (all) sold at a profit you were trading before your little nap in front of your computer after having seen your manual sell orders "evaporate a nice chunk of your coins" can also be fun to wake up to.

This culmination (but memorable lesson) approximately farted away ±1BTC in the last 20 hours. (not counting bags of BTC rise or altcoin dip, just plain stupid deletion of funds)

Check your configs and may your bots be kind to you.

I'm getting tired of multiply buys, when GB issues a sell order, that is never filled, and right after that in the same starts buying the same coin more and more and more, so 5-6-7 times buys are not OK, when they eat up 30% of your balance .... and GB continues to put unfilled sell order, and buy again again and again ....

Dor the next version, you may consider a setup where the bot does not sell our bankroll.
ie. I have 20 ETH on poloniex which I keep to sell later because I have bought it from low price, the bot does not sell only how much it bought itself, but all my ethereum.

Security Margins do not work.

For whatever reason, it seems to base the margin off of Last Price (or some other value) rather than Bought Price.

Example:

Only value of LOW_BB is being used by the bot. So a BB sell strategy could not work properly if HIGH_BB value differs from LOW_BB

As you can see now priceToSELL is somewhere lower than HIGH BB but it should be equal to HiGH_BB. It is lower because LOW_BB is set to 50%.

So to me it seems like the value of HIGH_BB is being ignored and the value of LOW_BB is being used for both SELL and BUY.

Hi, using the default settings and only inputting the API keys and noticing something strange.

1. The High and Low BB is not calculating in the top settings section. I have never seen this populate after numerous relaunches.

2. The BTC / ETH balance is undefined. This does show up on relaunch randomly.

3. The PriceToSell doesn't seem right. In the screenshot the priceToSell is .1068 which is near the current price and nowhere near the high BB on the 15min chart. It should be relatively near the high BB but the calculated value is below 50% of the difference between the high and low.

Any feedback is appreciated, I can't run the bot without know how this works more clearly (if this is intended).

So your setup you want to sell when the High BB is met since you have 0% set. Is that right? That's how I want to use it as well, actually to be 10% over the High BB. I have tried to set a negative % but it really throws off the value...

HIGH_BB does not work

Only value of LOW_BB is being used by the bot. So a BB sell strategy could not work properly if HIGH_BB value differs from LOW_BB

AS you can see my priceTobuy is equal to HIGH_BB instead of somewhere lower. So it seems it is reading the value of LOW_BB and using that as reference.

But, the problem is, as Buy is set for BB, every time the price drops the bot buys the coin and sells it at a % more than the last buy. Say it buy 3 times for 1000, 950, 700 for a unit. If 700 is the last buy it sells it a % above 700.

I just noticed same issue on Poloniex, I have double buy for exact pair, same amt, same time. Running Gunthar's "How I Run" settings with ELECTRIC_WIZARD's random delay in ALL PAIRS on Windows 10. Haven't run more than 10 pairs simultaneously when this occurred. I'm just running Gunbot through it's paces as a new customer day 2 in a dedicated Poloniex linked account.

I gave Gunbot a small amount (.05 BTC deposit with .005 BTC max trade) to prove his skills to me. This isn't taking bread off my table at these amounts, but this is still a HUGE problem! Take those decimals away and we're talking WTF?

Okay,

I'm a new customer and was emailed link for 3.3.2 to use. After reading 5 pages in here this build is scaring the crap out of me.

Started:     6/29/17 @ 1PM

Poloniex:    Dedicated child account funded with .05 BTC (not a big amount for me)

Config:       Gunthar's "How I Run" default settings using BB/BB on 10 pairs

Max Trade: .005 BTC on BB/BB default 10 pairs

First Buy:    6/29/17 @ 8:41PM!

Results:      Ran 60 hours, 14 buys (2 of which were double buys), 6 trades (+2% profit), 8 bags, 1 Max trade slot left 0.00590980

So now I'm stuck learning bag strategies with no capital to continue trading in this test account.

QUESTION - WTF is everyone doing about this? Can we downgrade, is there a more stable previous version? In hindsight I should have tested with smaller fund and that's my fault, I foolishly thought that trading software like this would be more thoroughly tested prior to release. I don't want to piss anyone off in here, I'm just being honest. I think this bot is absolutely amazing and can't wait to get my hands on the next version, but until then, just need advice on how to proceed.

Solution which doesn't work: set highBB to 0.1 so bot will use GAIN level to sell. Problem: looks like highBB is hard coded when using GAIN/GAIN because "BB price to sell" doesn't change, no matter if i set BB to 90, 50 or 0.1.
Even setting GAIN/BB strategy with same settings (GAIN=1, BB=0.1) to force bot use GAIN as sell method because "no sell at loss" logic, bot doesn't show correct BB price

This is the only issue I have with the bot. I'm going for very small gains per trade, 2-3%, but the BB sell price is always higher than my GAIN sell price. Not only is it always higher, it is not changeable at all regardless of what value is used in % HIGH BB.

I just purchased Gunbot.  I downloaded the files from Github https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/releases

when I unpacked the files from the Zip, Avast immediately throws a virus warning.  It says it blocked a threat ( win32:Adware Gen [Adw] )  from the file gunthy-x86.exe
Avast then quarantined this file.

I'm not set up to trade on Kraken (yet) and this may not be the issue but the first thing that sticks out is...

 GAIN price to sell NaN

NaN is abbreviation for "Not a Number" so check the numbers in your sell settings, also check that you haven't deleted the comma at the end. Every variable in the settings files must end with a comma.

Only just started using this and it seems so buggy. Frequent complete crashes and loads of errors in the logs. My main issue though is double buys. It placed a buy order that was filled just fine, then later on a sell order was fired in that was not filled and is still open. For some reason it thinks its filled and then has executed another buy. Weird bug where GB buys, then sells, then buys again all at the same price and all within a few minutes, zero profit, loss in fees, and it just shouldn't do this.

Thank you : I forgot to mention that « GAIN price to sell NaN » error.
I only used the default settings on BB without changing anything. Nothing sophisticated here.
I thought it was supposed to work at least like that.
As for the commas I haven’t seen any comma at the end of the settings, whichever it is – maybe I haven’t understood well what you wanted to say ; could you please elaborate ?
So until now I only saw  a bunch of errors.
That’s why I was wondering if it’s about kraken because so much people seem to be successful  with poloniex or bittrex.
For me, the bot is simply unusable from the beginning, which is really strange.
Just another idea : maybe the problem is due to the fact that I already have altcoins (i.e. ETH on the BTC/ETH pair), which is maybe not good for gunbot trading.

« Also: when you first start to trade a pair, you need to have a balance in the primary coin and possibly no balance on the "altcoin"
