General Discussion / Re: DCA buy only strategy
« on: October 08, 2022, 06:23:04 PM »
Glad to be a member of the Gunbot community, greetings to all.  :)

I have a question whether Gunbot can handle such a DCA strategy on a selected pair. I want the bot to buy and accumulate in such a way that for every 1% drop it buys

Hi Zaja, yes, it's possible to do it.

You need to set DU_BUYDOWN to 1. It's the minimum required price difference for a DU buy compared to the buy price of the previous order.
And assure all the other conditions are met. That way it will DCA buy every 1% as you want.

for example $10 more, like this:
-1% > buy for 10 USDT
-2% > buy for 20 USDT
-3% > buy for 30 USDT
-4% > buy for 40 USDT

If possible, I would appreciate instructions on how to adjust the pair strategy in such a way.

You can't do it using directly DOUBLE_UP_CAP as it's a ratio, for example if you set it to 2, it would buy 2x the same amount you have purchased. It would be 10, 20, 60, 180...

You can do it with DOUBLE_UP_CAP but you need to use autoconfig to change the ratio for each DCA so it match the exact results you want.

Hi, check latest stable version. It should fix it:

Starter is outdated, now that version doesn't exit. There is a super cheap update to Standard:

Beginners & Help / Re: State of backtesting
« on: October 08, 2022, 04:45:56 PM »
Hi jtubdnip, backtesting works on TradingView, so you can test the results choosing charts from TradingView. Backtesting Addon has it limitations, as you say, it doesn't emulate all the strategies like DCA, RT etc... but it's still an useful tool that can help to make us an idea of how a lot of strategies perform.

The minimum delay you can use depends on your connection, your settings... I would stop the bot for 15 minutos and try again with 60. If you get the same, try increasing it a bit more.

Hi Dringwal, there is not need to add the API for Bitget as it's one of the partner exchanges and you can use it directly.  If Bitget doesn't appear in the drop down menu, most likely is because you are using an old version. Here you can get the latest one:

Hi Benson, I'm sorry for the delay in the answers, I got covid, a pneumonia, and I have been in the hospital. I'm back now.
If you want to upgrade to New Ultimate, that includes the simulator, access to mobile app, infinite slots / exchanges running at the same time... You can do it here for just 0.015 btc using the coupon code: NEWULTIMATE

Try changing your api key for a new one. It usually fix this issue.

Hi, try stopping the bot for some minutes and start it again with a higher delay.

Hi, do you have any pair added to your Gunbot settings?

Remember the alerts must be written in CAPS, like this:

Also remember to add at least 1 pair in the bot

Technical Support & Development / Re: SpotGrid Advanced Issue

I checked this with Spot Grid and sometimes it sells a bit less while sometimes sells a bit more... so it's something that doesn't affect in the mid-long term results. Anyway, dev team is already aware of it.

Hi, we talked via Telegram some minutes ago. As I told you, despite the PNL is shown as USD, it states the profit in you base coin, that is, ETH.

Hi, My StepGrid strategy keeps selling at a loss, I don't think it is supposed to be doing that?

It will DCA / buy down in steps. Then it will sell some at a profit, then all of a sudden it will decide to sell bags it bought higher up as well, at a -PNL loss.  :(

I haven't changed the quote currency or done any manual trading on the active pairs. I have added some base currency to my spot account whilst the pairs have been active, which I wouldn't imagine would cause this issue?

Appreciate any insights, this is concerning. D5

It's a loss if you compare with average bought price. It's profit, if you compare with latest bought price.

This is how spot grid works. If it sells it sells with profit.

It's not buying the same thing at the same price, it's closing a cycle with profit, for example, selling 0.10 BTC with 2% profit, and then, at the same price, it buys 0.01 BTC and starts a new cycle.

Hello, just as the title says.  I want to trade perpetual futures pairs through Okex in gunbot.  I have gunbot all setup with the okex5 API key, it's set to swaps, but when I go to enter a trading pair, the only ones it brings up are their futures (weeklies, monthlies, quarterlys etc).

It says in the wiki its possible to trade perpetual futures pairs through Okex on gunbot.  Is there a resource that shows the syntax for typing in the pairs that you want to use?

As far as I know it's not possible yet. There will be some tests in January.

It's not possible to do that for that strategy, it would mess the calculations.

Gunbot has suddenly decided it doesnt want to load anymore. Below is the error its throwing repeatedly.

Your registered exchanges:

Tracked it down to the following pair in the config file
                "strategy": "bbta-tssl",
                "enabled": true,
                "override": {
                    "TRADING_LIMIT": "20",
                    "MIN_VOLUME_TO_SELL": "10",
                    "MIN_VOLUME_TO_BUY": "10",
                    "BOUGHT_PRICE": null,
                    "PERIOD": "1h"

I set bought price to a value since I imported several hundred coin to the exchange. Gunbot eventually sold it. Looks like Gunbot set the bought_price to null then
got all upset about it. Gunbot should have deleted the entry alltogether when it was no longer valid. I would call that a bug.

What version of the bot are you using?

Try removing the line  "BOUGHT_PRICE": null,
