Beginners & Help / BBRSISTEPGAIN VS BBSTEPGAIN
« on: December 08, 2017, 07:42:50 PM »
What is the real difference between these two stragegies.

Both have an RSI_BUY_LEVEL setting so I am trying to understand what the real difference is.

Thanks

Beginners & Help / Help with stepgain setting SELLLVL
« on: December 06, 2017, 03:00:52 PM »
I understand that you set the sell level % and level and then stepgain will try to sell at that point, and if not will back down to the previous level (or between) and previous level again and try to sell.

What I am not clear on is the SELLLVL setting.

Say I have the sell levels set at 2 , 5, 25.

Why and or when would I want to set the SELLLVL at 2 instead of 3?

Thanks

General Discussion / DOUBLE_UP is buying outside of fundamentals
« on: December 03, 2017, 07:25:12 PM »
Not working correctly, so beware.

This is on the latest version of GB

The first double up was correct.

The 2nd and 3rd double up never should have happened, so it apparently has issues.

Original buy 4.6 @ .000869
1st double up 4.6 @ .000836
2nd double up 9.2 @ .000843
3RD double up 18.4 @ .0008625

So in reality it is averaging up from each previous buy.

The RSI was good on the 1st double up. RSI = 27.
The RSI on the 2nd double up was 60 = too high.
The RSI on the 3rd double up was 40 = still too high.

Please fix.

Also to the programmers, you should have a switch to single up. IE like it would buy the same amount each time the conditions are met. IE 1 - same amount as the original purchase each time. 2 would buy 2x the amount.

And how about a stop to averaging down. IE 1 = one average down. 2 = two averages down. Etc.

General Discussion / BB vs BBRSI in the latest GB - what is the difference?

Since BB now has RSI buy and sell levels, what is the difference between these two strategies?

General Discussion / Re: GunBot XT Not Executing Trades
« on: December 02, 2017, 01:56:49 PM »
It happened to me a while back. And just happened again with a single pair. I think it is a bug in the program.
The first time it happened, I had to manually buy each dead pair and then GB started working normally.

27
Another question. Can you set a sell point and then stop within GB?

I guess I could stop set buy to false and place a sell order on Bittrex.

Anybody else?

Also GB would not buy any initial order, until I bought manually, then it would start working.

General Discussion / Re: EMA1 and EMA2 settings?
« on: November 20, 2017, 03:48:59 AM »
I dont know. I found several places where they say EM1 should be the largest and several others where they say EM2 should be the high number.

It would be nice if they could clarify or explain if they are flipped or flopped or whatever.

Of course it would also be nice if they would just right a good in depth manual.

Beginners & Help / Averaging down manually
« on: November 19, 2017, 07:55:42 PM »
As we know, a lot of times coins suddenly dump and will recover in a short amount of time. Sometimes only minutes.

At these times I would like to add to my position at the low.

Turn GB off and on to reset it, and let GB ride it back up and sell at the correct % above the average purchase price.

Will GB average the two buys, IE the GB buy and the manual buy, and find the correct % exit point?

Thanks

Beginners & Help / Re: Gunbot Not Making Trades

I had the same thing happen, sort of. Buying and selling along. GB sold all positions where it should have and then stopped.

Running BBRSI

I waited for about a day and missed several buy/sell cycles. Tried and experiment and bought at a low, turned GB off and then back on and it started working normally and still is. That was two days ago.

Okay, here is what I read that was confusing. At first he states the EMA1 number should be the higher number, but then down in the text he states the reverse. I am not sure if this is an error or if he is actually saying to reverse the EMA 1 and 2 settings.

What I am trying to figure out is should the EMA1 always be higher and EMA2 lower, or for short duration trading should they be reversed?

The confusion cam from here.

EMA1 and EMA2 are kinda of a weighted average of price and quantity. Literally, it is Exponential Moving Average. The number 1 and the number 2 on the side of EMA, indicate 2 different periods of calculations. Usually, EMA1 is calculated on longer periods and EMA2 on shorter periods. It indicates the average moving (up or down) of the latest prices calculated in the defined time. I suggest you set EMA1 to 2 hours and EMA2 to 4 hours if you want recurring trades in one hour or higher (4 to 8 hours or 6 to 12 hours) if you are fine with fewer trades per hour/day. Next: when to buy? When to sell? Ok, this is the answer: there is a space between EMA1 and EMA2 (sometimes there is not and they run like they were equals). Every price below the bottom of EMA1 and EMA2 is a time to buy. Every price above the top of EMA1 and EMA2 is a time to sell. So: let's use some new colors now: yellow to buy and azure to sell. The graphic above would become like this:

General Discussion / EMA1 and EMA2 settings?
« on: November 18, 2017, 12:55:15 PM »
When I got gunbot, the EMA1 and EMA2 settings were preset.
EMA1 was preset to 24 and EMA2 to 12.
The manual says this is correct.

Now, I am reading on the internet about gunbot EMA1 and 2 settings. I think it was a blurb from Gunther.
Says EMA 2 should be twice as high as EMA1, or exactly opposite of how it came preset.

I am now running GB as it came, with the factory EMA settings. Is this the wrong sequence?

Can someone please tell me the correct way to set the EMA1 and 2 since I am reading conflicting info?

Thanks

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

Worked fine for the last two days, and yet today, GB wont do anything but cycle the log.

Hits the correct conditions but never executes.

General Discussion / Can anybody explain this message?
« on: November 17, 2017, 11:09:25 PM »
Running gunbot in bbrsi mode, several pairs, and I just missed 3 buys where all the conditions were met.

The RSI was below my buy line. The candle was at or below the lower BB and or within the BB percentage range.

I am getting the message - "Waiting to buy: Price too high!!"

So all the conditions were met and whatever was causing the "waiting to buy" message long enough to stall the buy, and then the MA went above the RSI line and the lower BB, effectively cancelling the buy.

I have had this happen several times before and would like to know what controls the "waiting to buy message."

General Discussion / Re: And my memory usage continues to rise
« on: November 15, 2017, 06:39:53 PM »
I think this is more an issue with Chrome than with Gunbot.

I pretty maxed out 4 gb last night with Chrome.

Running the GUI on firefox used less memory which I cant believe since it is a memory hog on my computer. Way worse than Chrome on my computer.

Anyway....

From left to right, Chrome/Gunthy.exe only/Firefox

Type: Cloud Server XL
CPU: 2 vCore
RAM:4 GB
SSD: 120 GB

8 pairs

Processor spiked to critical twice.
Has now settled at 85%.

Memory usage just spiked at about 90% or 3.6GB !

Mine leveled off a bit. 85% processor but still at about 2.5 GB ram.

That's with windows.

This program needs a fix bad.

I spoke too soon previously.

Now running 8 pairs, my processor is at critical. Probably 95%.

Memory is at 2.5 GB and going up rapidly.

This program has a memory leak or something is not quite right.
