Technical Support & Development / Re: no trades at all with v5.0.4
« on: October 07, 2017, 12:48:33 PM »
Ah ah, incredible sloaleks, he did it :-)

I agree on everything above.
Unfortunately MCO seems to be going down again, too bad, it didn't went up enough for me to get rid a bag of this.
Factom and Augur, didn't try... for now I'm escaping too low volumes/marketcap pairs. But I'll check those.

I can add I had some success with Verge (XVG) on Bittrex, my today's present  ;)

>1: Is this possible without infringing the generous license agreement?

YES

>Is it ok to use the same Bittrex API key on both machines at the same time?

YES

>If answer to Q1 = yes, and Q2 = No, how can I achieve Objective 1

The only concern is the load on the Bittrex API.
You may balance it nicely so you don't receive warning messages from Bittrex, or even "punishments" like a week API ban or such.
I'd try to avoid more than 1 or a couple of API calls per second (for all the machines).

This may be tricky as it depends on how you run the processes on your various machines.

If you can, make a script or so (like using AutohotKey) to run smoothly each pair one after the other, and running each Gunbot instance one after the other.

Hoping it's clear - but the idea is not to have all them run at the same time, which would throw 20, 40 or 60 API calls at the same time/second(s), which could end up bad.

>1: Derive happiness from helping out fellow members of the gunbot community.

I'm happy  ;D

>2: Have a sense of humour.

You must have some in order to make Gunbot work the way you wish it works...

>3: Never have worn a polo shirt with the collar popped (exception for female tomboys)

I don't even know what it is.
Right now I'm naked and wear only wooden shoes  :o

Technical Support & Development / Re: Not getting Bollinger Band

Wow wow wow

1° 3.3.2 BB curves and decisions are NOT what you can see on your favorite marketplace.
In short and simple, you can't really make them match.

2° You don't need BB to see if it was a smart Buy or not.
And as  5 minutes BB is totally different than a 15 minutes one, which BB to follow?
Note there are other buying/selling settings than BB.

3° Please wait (like me) for the 5.0.5.x (?) which is announced for saturday night (fever) - it seems that solves all your BB problems and they should match.

Hoping that helps?

Technical Support & Development / Re: V3.3 going fast for too long
« on: October 06, 2017, 08:03:31 PM »
Agreed, it does this from time to time.

Solutions :
* STOP, LOAD and START again the same pair.
* use 5.0.5.? the very last version, maybe final of gunthy V5 (and exit this problem).

Don't worry, we're all (certainly me) complaining for a reliable/stable new version.
This 3.3.2 will soon be obsolete, I hope.

General Discussion / Re: Maximum pair price
« on: October 06, 2017, 07:04:25 PM »
Yes, but say 0.5$ is your limit, if the price rises from 0.25$ to 0.3$, will you level up your limit to 0.55$?
It's a pain.

But again, this decently works (depending the value) against pumps and dumps:

But if you're afraid it buys whatever crazy, please use the BUY_LEVEL (%) parameter.
It won't buy above N% below the lowest of EMA1 and EMA2

As a pump is usually a quick movement, the lowest EMA won't move, and it'll avoid the bot to buy higher.
Anyway, my 2 cents.

General Discussion / Re: Maximum pair price

I don't see any justification to limit buying to a certain price.
I mean: if it's now 1$ then sell it 1.2$?

You can look at it like when you buy gas for your car. Whatever the price is, if you buy 10$, you always get gas for 10$.
So, here also, the current price 0.5$ or 1$ doesn't change your total price (trading_limit or max balance to trade).

But if you're afraid it buys whatever crazy, please use the BUY_LEVEL (%) parameter.
It won't buy above N% below the lowest of EMA1 and EMA2

Exemple, a safe level would be 5% - but with this configuration, don't expect much trades ;-)

Beginners & Help / Re: Gun not pulling the trigger

Yes, the documentation is messy here  ;D
Fortunately, the software is better.

https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,306.0.html

The 0.02 and 0.04 values are a reversed engineered formula to calculate EMA1 and EMA2 very similar to Poloniex periods of 2 and 4 hours with a candlesticks period of 15 minutes. This is the only setting that is backtested with good results: if you use a different period of hours or use a different candlesticks period, the bot will not behave as its creator coded it: it would become too rushy with candlesticks lower than 15 minutes and/or ema1/ema2 lower than 2/4 hours, or too dormant with candlesticks period and/or Ema period higher than what suggested...by the moment you purchased the bot, tho, that's your bot, it is not mine anymore, so you can play with those values but you have been warned... ;)

>well, good luck on your trades, the charts seem a bit more optimistic today. zcash, neo, lumenstellar, iconomi, even ripple ... these have all at least some volume. maybe not go for really high profits, set the strategies so that you gain about 1% per trade and you're good to go for today.

YES!
Now we've got the Sloaleks Ex-News!
"Everyday the most profitable pairs and the comprehensive guide of your gunthy daily settings!"
Very nice.
I'll look at those above pairs and wait for tomorrow's Sloaleks Ex-News  :P

Beginners & Help / Re: Question about new V5 config file
« on: October 06, 2017, 12:01:52 PM »
>do I need to tell GB to override or will it just do it when i add to the "coin pairs config"  ?

Everything you put in a pair config will automatically override the corresponding default setting.

Examples:
* you can have "bb" for all pairs, except "stepgain" for one.
* one pair which works well, you can increase "TRADING_LIMIT"
* if it's too stable you can decrease "BUY_LEVEL", or the opposite for an unstable pair...
Custom settings are infinite.

But with caution, it's money  ;)

Do NOT change the gunbot 3.3.2 candlestick period (leave it to 15).

Sure, the override is made for this.

Pay attention to the commas... those ones should be removed (just before a "}" no comma):

Thank YOU! Good luck.

94
Mmmmh, I made a few with no problem.
But there were *closed* buy orders: I mean use the Last price and buy "quickly".
Then it'll see "there are altcoins" and he'll try to sell them normally.

95
3.3.2 works well if you place a manual order to sell, at least.
I'm not sure what happens if you place an order to buy that isn't closed...

Simply cancel or fill the buy order?

Contact the seller until he replies.

Don't count on Gunthar  :P

Already reported here:
https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/issues

It's announced fixed in 5.0.5.5 RC

It's however not 100% sure it's fixed, as this was signaled:
https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/Gunthy/issues/24

But (IMO) it's far better than 5.0.4 : don't use this version.
