General Discussion / Re: Exchange preference?
« on: January 05, 2018, 10:39:48 PM »
I first bought Gunbot when Polo was the only exchange offered, so I've used Polo a lot. These days though I find I'm trading new coins rather than tried and true coins, so most of my Gunbot trading now is on Cryptopia. It depends what you're after. I'm noticing new exchanges such as Kucoin are becoming popular and I hope Gunthar will keep adjusting his list of supported exchanges over time. The main trend I see is ever-tightening restrictions on the older exchanges and few or no restrictions on the newer ones - at least until they mature and the cycle repeats. When/if good decentralized exchanges appear, I hope the Gunbot will support them too. It's all good.     ;)

Thanks for the idea. I'll try it on Chrome shortly.

Edit - update - wow, time flies. It turned out my wife had other plans for my time and when I finally got back to tuning Gunbot it was at version 7.0.2 which seems to be working perfectly in Firefox. Problem solved! The bot has come a long way in just a year or so - very impressive.

Hi. I just tried to update to XT without success. I've been using 3.3 for a long time but was intrigued by the XT announcement. Anyway, on startup a command line window pops up and says:

Gunthy GUI running on http://localhost:5000
Wiki: https://github.com/GuntharDeNiro/BTCT/wiki
Unhandled rejection SequelizeConnectionError: SQLITE_CANTOPEN: unable to open database file
    at Database.AbstractConnectionManager.getConnection.Promise.connections.(anonymous function).lib.Database.err (C:\snapshot\gunbot-autoconfig\node_modules\sequelize\lib\dialects\sqlite\connection-manager.js:66:63)

 - I'm guessing that is not normal, although it makes sense that there would be no DB file for it to find on the first run. I tried the GUI anyway. When I open a FF tab for the GUI using localhost:5000 it looks normal and says "create password". However, it does not appear to accept the password and does not go beyond the password prompt. The GUI Wiki tab works, but the other tabs do not seem to do anything.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Yes, I'd also like to see some of the "low volume, lots of markets" exchanges such as Cryptopia or C-CEX.

That's where new diamonds-in-the-rough are to be found (along with lots of junk, of course).

Every exchange has its fans and detractors, so I'd guess that the best strategy for Gun would be to add a few and let people pick their faves. I assume it's incrementally easier to add exchanges after the hard work of setting up the first few.

Interesting. I get the same error message with 3.3 (patched to 3.3.1). Version 3.2 is working fine for me, although it hasn't traded in a while - I figured that was just a rising market thing.

Anyway, I'd guess we've done something wrong since other people seem to have 3.3 working.

I'm using Polo with Win10 64.

Suggestions welcomed.

Edit: Update - Gunthar explained this in his blurb for 3.3.2 - "-Beware: api/secret input has changed in v3.3, they are now in the "market settings" section. Beware what you write there!"
I had noticed the display but didn't notice they were for data entry (doh). Problem solved now.
