Hey guys,
I was wondering if it is smart to turn off the bot in a bearish market?
What will happen with your bags when you restart the bot in better market conditions?

Personnaly I state "buy_enabled"=false, it's better, so you've a chance to sell if a Bull appears ;-)

It should restart fine, I guess.
Depending the version maybe.
I use 5.0.4

I keep a close eye on BTC price and if that starts to drop I watch trade activity and when it starts to slow down I turn off buys. There have been times when I shut off buys for an hour or other times days.
When I start seeing some of my existing bags start to move up again I'll turn buys back on.

You can set "Buy_enabled" to false.
On the other hand, you can:
1- Use some protections like MFI, so it stops buying if BTC price is dropping.
2- Use stop loss
3- Trade pairs whose base coin is not BTC, for example: ETH-XXX, USDT-XXX etc...
4- Open shorts
