Technical Support & Development / Re: 4.0.5 definitive settings?
« on: September 06, 2017, 08:04:52 AM »
Mine is like so. Don't take this as gospel, it worked for me. The settings are almost standard, like in the downloaded config. The EMA settings numbers I got from some posts here on the forum. I suggest strong pairs (no shitcoins). See how it plays out, but leave it on at least some time. I didn't shit my pants when on the rare occasion the bot bought after a sale on the way up, because at the end it cleared in profit. (YMMV, some users say this strategy is risky on 4.0.5., and I may have been lucky)

Beginners & Help / Re: Bot Not Buying

depends on the exchange, check what the smallest trade amount in BTC for you account is, and set accordingly in the chosen pair/s. I've ran it as low as 0.003 BTC per trade on Kraken. No problems.

yeah, but did you check the price fluctuations against the lower bollinger band? how close did it get?

For the short time I used it (had to remove capital to pay some bigger bills) I got the fastest results on the 4.0.5. I traded pure BB. Added two EMA lines to the strategy (no big deal), killed double up and set a little differently on gain. Got some behaviour that seemed strange at first, but it played out in profit after all.

General Discussion / Re: New to Gunbot, how do I get started?
« on: September 06, 2017, 06:19:05 AM »
I would like to set the bot up on LTC/BTC to start, but it seems like everyone is running multiple pairs. Is there a reason why? What would happen if I turned on the bot and didn't touch any settings? Would it lose money? Thank you.

More chance of successful trades. Currencies have swings (i.e. opportunities for profit) during different hours in the day. You run the bot 24/7. If you run more pairs, for example, you can already make profitable trades ETH-BTC, while the bot is waiting for an oppotunity on LTC-BTC, and so on.

I ran mine on just a small tweak from the provided settings. Even running it straight like downloaded will not make you loose money. The settings can be tweaked to make fewer trades with more profit, or a lot of trades with a small profit; in some extend you can add a little more risk, or less. But the profitability (from what I used it) mostly depends on the chosen pair. In the beginners section the are pinned articles on how to run the bot, choose pairs etc.

General Discussion / Re: Yield in version 3.3.2 vs newest 4.x
« on: September 06, 2017, 06:12:51 AM »
Tthe answer might be a bit hard to get. You see, I don't think there is a user using 2 versions simultaneously on the same exchange and on the same pairs/settings to confirm this.

well, download, installation and setup for a cuople of pairs takes about 5 minutes. why not try for yourself? some say it runs superbly, me included, some people are not quite happy.

General Discussion / Re: Minimum BTC to run Gunbot to make profit?
« on: September 05, 2017, 06:17:02 AM »
Sorry, can't say anything about VPSs, I'm running it from my PC ATM. Sample startegies (working) are already built into the bot. You can run the bot as is, or play with the settings. Settings can also be bought from trading gurus on the forum. Choose your poison.

General Discussion / Re: EMA1 & EMA2 setting in Gunbot RC v4.0.5
« on: September 05, 2017, 06:00:31 AM »
IMO there's no right or wrong on those sttings. They are just different. Like in audio, someone gives it more trebble, others don't like it. The GB needs to be set according to your trading style. What is your manual trading style? Do you go for few high yield deals, or do you make a lot of small profit deals? Are you inclined to more or less risk? And so on. All those can be set.

many places/resellers etc. Google gunbot license, or choose one slightly used (it doesn't wear, so nothing to fear) from the market section on this forum.

Just go on like the first pair you got against BTC. I don't think all pairs work in that version (EOS? I think, there might be another ...). I don't know if it's smart running the same pairs against BTC and against fiat, I.E.: I wouldn't run ETH against BTC and USD/EUR at the same time.

I f you're not scared of a little typing in Notepad, I'd say go for the last version. The code is really not that complicated, and you relally need only to set the pairs.

I think in 4.0.5 the bot doesn't care for dust.

your settings in the strategy are?

495
yeah, but as of today (yesterday?) a new Kraken patch is needed. https://gunthy.org/index.php/topic,1015.0.html

actually, I ran it for a day with not much trouble, then the (unanounced) Kraken maintenance period kicked in. I was getting trouble all saturday morning, even before the maintenance stop. Luckily I got over my procrastinantion and loaded 4.0.5 thinking the version was the culprit.
Anyways, much happier with 4.0.5, don't miss the GUI that much.

Yeah, crap, didn't think about that (last price cheapest). I'm slightly ashamed to say that I work in IT ... I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, it seems.

You sure you gave them an API without any strange characters or symbols? The API needs to be clean, letters and numerals only. I had to request it several times, before I got a clean one. The private can contain any character, symbols included.

mine was a proposal to vicdr's problem of fire selling a coin he wants to ride on a spike.
for your problem a statement needs to be changed in source, as in something like buy inabled: true, if btc holding is higher than 0.1 btc+ "btc trade limit". now it s set to a value lesser than "btc trade limit" set in the config. it states "no funds available" if you have less than "btc trade limit" in bitcoin, so just one variable in the source needs to be changed or another variable added to "btc trade limit", something like "minimum btc holding" (as I figure, but I'm a simpleton, could be more complicated).

What exchange? I got a lot of these on Kraken running 3.3.2. when they were preparing for maintenance.
